One of my Great Mentors, Dr. David Jackson,
has said it hundreds of times. ‘Your beliefs, whether true or not and whether
you have consciously thot about them or not, dictate your behaviors.’
What he means is
that even if the belief is false and has no backing whatsoever it will still
cause you to behave in a certain way if you ALLOW it to guide your actions.
Likewise even if you have not consciously thot about the belief, it will still
guide your actions because subconsciously your mind has ALLOWED it to become a
standard by which you make decisions.
So how do we
change this? Make a list of all of your fears, regrets, doubts, and all the
beliefs that you hold strongly to. Then look at everything you have written
down and see how those beliefs have guided your life to today. Are you happy
with where things are or would you like them to be different? If different then
what beliefs would you need to hold in order for you to have the life you want?
Begin to change how you look at life and make daily decisions by using these
new beliefs to guide your actions. You will be amazed at how your life changes
when you CHOOSE to make it what YOU want it to be!
